Vendaval

We had a comfortable stay in a great location, though carrying our suitcases up two floors was a downside since there’s no lift. The rooms had large windows facing the mountains and sea, and you could see the view from the shower too. I loved the wooden details, especially the bedside tables and stools, and the clever little pebble hooks for hanging clothes. The bathroom was the best of our 5 week trip around south America, with lovely tiling and the first heated towel rail we’d had on the trip, which was perfect for drying clothes. Everything was well maintained and heated. We appreciated the welcome glass of nice wine too.

We set off early for our hike, and the staff packed us a breakfast to take along, which was a great help. They were friendly, offered useful local tips, and welcomed us with a drink at the rooftop bar. The hotel is right in the centre of Punta Natales. Parking can be difficult around town, and there’s no designated space for guests. The shower felt a bit cramped, and water got through the door.

The view of the snowy mountains and lake was excellent, and the hotel is conveniently placed for restaurants, supermarkets, and the viewpoint. Our room was in good condition, and the front desk staff were always helpful with questions about food, buses, or taxis. Since we had a 6am tour, they packed breakfast for us to take away. The regular breakfast was decent too, with bread, fruit, eggs, cheese, milk, yogurt, coffee, and more.

We liked the rooftop bar, with comfortable seats and a nice view, and breakfast starts at 6 am. It’s basic, but satisfactory. The place was clean and well located, close to the lake, city centre, shops, and restaurants. The shower door wouldn’t shut properly and spoiled our stay. We reported it at the front desk, but nothing was done.
