I didn’t stay in the Cabana, but did one of their kayak trips to the marble caves, which is a great thing to do in Rio Tranquilo. They drove us to a small beach, provided the kayak and all the equipment, and sent us out with a guide. There were seven of us and one guide. We spent 2-3 hours on the water, then they drove us back. Our guide spoke only Spanish. The price was about 50k CLP per person.

I was on the 3rd floor and had to carry my own luggage. There was no hot water, and breakfast coffee was instant powder.

We came as a group for two nights and stayed in one of the large "cabanas." It had two rooms, a bathroom, a hall, and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed. Simple, but really nice. We also booked two outings with them: a marvelous day trip to San Rafael glacier and a boat ride to the fantastic caverns at General Carrera lake.

We spent five nights in a cabana and really enjoyed it. The fireplace kept the place warm, and they cleaned it every day. The owner was so lovely and friendly, and even helped us arrange excursions. We’d recommend it without hesitation!

There’s a good wood-burning stove in each cabin, and they kept us supplied with firewood. I think they’ll even start the fire for you if you ask. The kitchen had pots and pans, though their quality was questionable, and four place settings per cabin, which was handy. Our group stayed in cabins 3 and 5. In cabin 3, the queen bed was almost unbearable, with the springs seeming to be covered by just a sheet. The single beds in the other room were much more comfortable. Cabin 5 had fairly comfortable beds, including its queen, so it seems hit or miss. The accommodations were adequate, nothing special. WiFi is advertised, but there was none. One thing about Puerto Tranquilo generally: people didn’t seem very friendly and appeared to see tourists as a bothersome necessity. At the supermercado, locals regularly cut in front of us and the cashier seemed fine with it. Don’t count on getting reliable directions from most locals either.
