Both times we've visited with our family, the experience has been spectacular. Tantakuy is a gem in the heart of the Atacama Desert, with beautiful domes and owners and staff who clearly take pride in making guests feel at home. The rooms and bathrooms are impeccably clean. Breakfast and the restaurant menu feature local flavors that keep us coming back. There are inviting places to relax, including beautiful pools, meditation areas, and spaces for group activities that encourage rest and connection. They also offer several guided tours around the area, making the visit enriching and entertaining.

The place is lovely, full of greenery, and the pool and other facilities are beautiful. But for the price, I expected more: the breakfast was quite poor, and there seemed to be just one woman running the whole restaurant. On our second day it was closed in the late afternoon and evening, so we couldn't order food or drinks, even though we had planned to do that after reserving the hot tub. Water was cut off overnight, leaving us unable to shower. There was also a strong sewage smell that attracted lots of flies. I don't think the hotel is very pet-friendly either. There were kittens, but no one seemed to feed or water them. One stayed with us for both days, and we had to make sure it got food and water because it was begging desperately.
The rooms get extremely hot, and the shower barely had any water pressure. They play music over a speaker by the pool, and you can hear it in every cabin all day, which is baffling for somewhere that promotes connecting with nature. The stay is very expensive compared with similar places that offer better features. It feels overpriced.
The restaurant menu isn't extensive, but the dishes they do serve are exquisite. I especially recommend the sirloin smoked with tamarugo wood. The staff were excellent, friendly, and attentive throughout our pleasant, relaxing stay. If you want to step away from your daily routine and unwind, this place is 100% recommended. I'd definitely stay again.
We only stayed one night while passing through, and the rooms were a little small, though manageable if you're traveling without a suitcase. In the afternoon we had a lovely time relaxing by the pool in the middle of the desert. It's very quiet, with nice Peruvian or similar music playing, so it was great for unwinding. There's nowhere nearby to eat, so dinner has to be at the hotel, but ours was delicious. Breakfast was okay too, although they only had instant coffee, which we coffee lovers weren't keen on. We were told the whole hotel is apparently 100% organic.
