Arrebol Patagonia Hotel

A lovely family run hotel in a nice spot. You can hear the sounds of nature right outside your window.

This place used to be a hotel in Puerto Varas, but it no longer operates as one. There's a grill restaurant there with different types and combinations, but I found the grills disappointing. The $120,000 grill with offal and meats was so greasy I could only eat a blood sausage and a potato. It was meant for several people, yet the included salad was ridiculously small. Dessert was only ice cream, and they never offered the after-dinner drink. Oh, and the wine we ordered was brought to the table uncorked. I wouldn't go back.

The hotel is secluded from the city, so it was peaceful and restful. Even with other guests around, you barely noticed them, and the music was great. I appreciated being able to cool off by opening the door, with no air conditioning, and that there was no TV in the room. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the whole staff provided excellent service, which made the stay for us despite some unfortunate maintenance problems. The architecture and breakfasts were excellent, and the bar drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The beers were very good too. Maintenance needs attention, from the paint and dampness at the entrance to the bathroom getting clogged and having no hot water all day. Thanks for everything!

We enjoyed being able to stay with our dog. The rooms were comfortable, and the bed was spotless. The interiors felt welcoming, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel's infrastructure is beautiful and fits perfectly with the southern landscape. My one recommendation is hot water! Everything else is fantastic.
