The room was clean, and I appreciated having a mini fridge and filtered water dispenser in the lobby. The view was very nice and the bathroom was large, though there weren’t many amenities. The room got incredibly hot, with no air conditioning; you can ask for a fan. We had to open both the window and hallway door to get a breeze and some cool air. The hotel is right on the main road, which is loud and smoggy, and there’s a strange echo outside that carries people’s conversations as they walk by. Reception was a bit rude. The pool is small and you have to reserve a time. Parking is a little odd, with a small lot out front, space to park on the grass in front, or another small lot behind. The breakfast buffet was a bit chaotic.

Daniela gave me an amazing deep tissue massage. Her hands are so soft and warm, and she was really attentive. She worked all the knots out of my back, a fabulous masseuse. I’m not a hotel guest; I came just for the massage. The bookings team got my massage dates wrong, so I had to come back twice, but that was their mistake and had nothing to do with the massage staff.

The lakefront setting is great, though being right on the main road means quite a bit of traffic noise. Shutting the windows helps at night, but with no AC the room can get very warm. My smart TV couldn't get online, and the public WiFi landing page wouldn't let me connect it. The bed also rolled away from the wall when I sat up, since the wheels apparently hadn't been locked. None of that was a major issue for me, though I can see it being harder for less tech-savvy guests.

Alexia at reception made a real difference for my family. She spoke English well and was so helpful and informative, going out of her way whenever we needed something. The rest of the staff made us feel welcome too. We spent two nights in the spacious two-storey family room at Hotel Bellavista, enjoyed our stay, and hope to come back.

The view and location were great, and breakfast was excellent. The hotel and rooms looked prettier in the online photos than they did in person, though. Still, it was okay.
