Cabañas Estacion del Lago

⚠️ Terrible time in Puerto Varas ⚠️ We traveled from Santiago with friends and five children, after booking one night in Puerto Varas back in December for February. On the day itself, the owner told us he had “forgotten” our reservation and had oversold the place, so he couldn’t take us. His suggested fix was to change the date, which simply wasn’t possible because our trip was planned for that day. There was no real or responsible solution. We were left to sort things out ourselves and had to go to Osorno at night with the kids to find somewhere on short notice, because of a mistake that wasn’t ours. The management was deplorable, with no consideration for travelers. Be careful when booking.

A lovely, clean place with roomy bedrooms. It feels safe for kids and vehicles, and is an excellent spot to relax. 👍

The cabins are lovely, but the owner showed no responsibility at all. My friend booked for February 7th and 8th two months ahead and paid a 50% deposit to avoid accommodation trouble. When we went to get the cabin, the owner denied responsibility for the reservation without explaining why. After my friend called her repeatedly, the woman sent a guest from one of the cabins to tell us she’d forgotten about it. We felt awful and had to go back to Osorno. She was completely uncooperative and didn’t even apologize. It was disrespectful. Beware of her.

We were a big group with a reservation, but he forgot and rented the place to someone else. He didn’t tell us, and when we arrived to pick up the house, he stopped replying. Very irresponsible and terrible service.
