Alba gave excellent service at Hostal Das Haus. That’s the name of the place!
The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and everything was clean. The staff were very friendly, too. The large bathroom had one problem: the shower was under a sloping ceiling, so there wasn’t much headroom and it was awkward to use. We could also hear the TV next door. Fine for a short visit, but I think a longer stay would get uncomfortable.
The room itself was comfortable, but the service was terrible. We had trouble with the bathroom’s hot water, and breakfast was very limited. Getting a receipt was a huge hassle because someone outside the hostel handled all the administration. We also ate beside a leaking roof and couldn’t tell whether the water was coming from the rain or a second-floor bathroom.
The beds were clean and comfortable, and the house itself is very nice. But the service was terrible: the receptionist was grumpy and showed no courtesy or empathy. I had the poorest breakfast I’ve ever had, just tea and a halala with half ham and half cheese. The shower had no hot water, so I had to report it. A leak from the second floor kept going during our stay, including while we were having breakfast. At 60,000 + VAT per night, it was very expensive for what was offered. On top of that, an alarm went off all night on three nights.
The location was the only good thing. You can walk to the city center, but there’s no soundproofing at all, so we heard everything in the next room. When we arrived, they said guests had a check-in cutoff and wouldn’t be let in afterward. Nobody had told us about that when we booked. I wouldn’t stay here again.
