The garden was great and our five-year-old loved it. We stayed in the attached cabana, which had its own kitchen and bathroom, and it was just right for my wife, our son, and me. Plenty of room, clean and tidy, but still cozy. The staff were super friendly, and the whole place had a nice vibe.

I loved the community feel, but I probably wouldn't book again unless the owner makes meaningful improvements. The building needs a lot of work, and for midrange travelers it's poor value. I've stayed in hostels around the world, and this was below average at best. The owner doesn't seem to look after the building. The room doors don't lock properly and use padlocks, which could be concerning for a woman traveling solo. The bathrooms lack basics that many hostels provide for free, like shampoo and body wash. The staff are very kind, but know little about the area and can't offer much useful information or advice. Wi-Fi barely works, and the rooms need better soundproofing for light sleepers. I understand the building is incredibly old, but maybe they could provide earbuds.

The little details made this one of my top three hostel stays: there were plenty of places to hang things in both the room and shower, and everything was clean and quiet. You can tell the person who designed it has travelled a lot. The people were lovely too. I’d recommend it highly, and wish I could give it 10 stars!

From the moment we arrived, the place felt cozy and home-like, with a stylish building and a relaxed community feel. There’s room for privacy, too. It’s central but quiet, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The hostel stays spotless, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are lovely, and the bathrooms sparkle. There’s lots of storage, a great garden, free hot drinks all day, and a properly equipped kitchen. It’s hard to think of anything that isn’t great, especially at such an affordable price. Other hostel owners could learn a lot by coming here. We’ll definitely return if we’re back in town.

The hostel has a really welcoming atmosphere, with a fire going in every room. My bedding, showers, and bathrooms were clean, and there’s a pleasant outdoor seating area plus a bike shed. The reception staff were lovely and helpful: they helped me set up my SIM card and shared lots of useful local information. I also enjoyed the freshly baked cake they had for sale, such a nice surprise in a hostel. It’s just up the hill from the lake, about a two-minute walk down to the supermarket and main town. I’d happily recommend it. Thanks for having me!
