The lakefront location was the best part of our stay, and the staff were nice and efficient, especially at checkout. But the hotel didn't deliver the four-star experience we expected. We booked two premium rooms advertised with corner windows and lake views, but got a hot attic room, Room 601, with stairs and only a city view. Nobody had told us about the stairs, and neither the room view nor the stairs appeared on the hotel's website or Booking.com. Both sites also advertised bathtubs in premium rooms, but neither of ours had one. That was a big disappointment and not what we paid for. There was no bellman service, and nobody offered to help with our luggage. My husband had to carry both suitcases upstairs by himself. I'd had two shoulder surgeries in the previous six months, so I couldn't help. No complimentary toiletries or shower soap were provided, so we had to find our own. The towel on our last day was old and smelled so strongly we couldn't use it. Part of the bathroom sink counter and two water glasses weren't cleaned during our stay. There was no coffee or tea in the rooms, just instant coffee and black tea in the common areas. The minibar was completely empty, with no drinks or snacks in the bedroom. Breakfast was disappointing too, with stale croissants and overripe strawberries. The cappuccino on the first day was decent and complimentary. On the second day, we were told cappuccinos cost extra. We agreed to pay, but got watery coffee with a thin layer of foamed milk that didn't resemble a cappuccino. Although breakfast was already paid for at the hotel, we went elsewhere after that.

We had two lovely evenings here as a group. The building has beautiful woodwork, and our room was spotless, with a comfortable bed and a nice shower. The staff were friendly, and we walked to our restaurant.

The picture windows look out across the lake toward the Orsano volcano, which was fantastic. We had a great room and shower, and this is the best hotel we've stayed at so far.

The hotel looks modern, but it worked horribly. WiFi was useless for streaming or any sustained download, and there was no premium option. Even after we complained and were told it would be fixed, it barely got above 1 MBS and kept failing. Hot water took 10 minutes to reach our third-floor room at any time of day. Nothing improved over two days, and they didn't seem able to make quick fixes.
