We stayed for three nights, and Paola gave us a lovely, warm welcome and looked after us. When we arrived, she even helped us pay a reasonable taxi fare because we were being ripped off. The rooms were cozy and warm, the staff cheerful, and everything in town was within walking distance. Dinner was okay, while the desserts were good for afternoon tea.

The room felt cramped, with so many beds that it was a little hard to move around. We were put in a triple room even though there were just two of us, and it wasn't very inviting compared with the photos. The shower drain didn't work well, and Wifi only worked downstairs for us. The location was convenient for walking to local restaurants and our car rental.

We came back twice because the bed was so comfortable. The room was spacious and warm, with a great shower, and breakfast was good. They even served it early for our morning excursion, though several dinner ingredients ran out while we were there. To be fair, it was late March, near the end of the season. You could park off the street or just on the street. Everything was an easy walk away. We didn't meet many English speakers.

The location was good and the staff were friendly, and it seemed nice when we first walked in. But the WiFi didn't reach our room, and the shower drain was clogged, leaving us standing in a couple of inches of water by the end. The complimentary breakfast left a lot to be desired too. Hotel Kran Kreen wasn't worth the price; at half the cost, it would've been fine.

My only regret is booking just one night at Kran Kreen. I stayed in Punta Arenas during my Chile/Patagonia trip in Nov-22, and the staff were fantastic. They gave me my preferred floor, recommended good places for lunch and dinner, and had breakfast packed and ready at 6.00AM for my early trip to Magdalena Island to see the Penguins. The hotel is new, spotless, quiet, and very modern, with a big screen TV, a comfortable bed, and a nice bathroom. The location is great: a 2min walk from the bus station, 4m from all the restaurants and the main square, and the waterfront. 5+ stars, I highly recommend it. NBUSA
