Hotel San Esteban

After crossing the border from Argentina, we were tired and glad to find such a comfortable, homey place to stay. The facilities are lovely, and the owner made us feel incredibly welcome. We had a great conversation too. Thank you.

The grounds are a lovely, peaceful natural setting, and the rooms are nice and furnished with chairs and a table. The owner runs the hotel and was attentive and helpful with every need. Breakfast came to the room, and it was complete and very generous. It was the most economical price I found in the Andes and nearby, so I’d definitely come back.

They had the room warmed up for me when I arrived at 1 am for work, and I could finally get some proper rest. The bed was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were kind and understood what I actually needed, with no issue receiving me so late. The bathroom was impeccably clean, with hot water, soap, shampoo, towels and toilet paper. There’s parking, a very substantial breakfast delivered to the room, and they issued my invoice right away. A 7! Thanks so much.

We booked this as a place to sleep during a stopover and explore the Valley a little, and were pleasantly surprised. The room and bathroom are basic, but clean and well cared for. There’s a little garden to enjoy, with cats and plenty of birds. Breakfast is simple and just right to start the day, served either in the room or in a small cafe. From booking through arrival, the staff followed up and took care of our needs. Everyone was pleasant and eager to help. Franz, the manager, was especially kind, and we spent nearly two hours having an interesting, enjoyable conversation. That personal connection means a lot in a world where service can feel impersonal. It’s a place I’d return to.
