Hostal Ayni

The showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly for us, including for lots of video calls. I’d been worried because reliable internet can be hard to find in San Pedro. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with a window onto the outdoor dining area and a view of the volcanoes. It was near the main kitchen. The hosts, Claudio and Rosanna, were kind, helpful and very welcoming. They even let us check out very late. We had an excellent stay and would definitely stay with them again if we return to San Pedro. I’d hoped to review them on Booking too, but we’re having trouble getting into our account.

The veranda has a lovely view, and there’s coffee available around the clock. They also provide filtered water, and the showers always had hot water. The place is clean and cozy, in a pleasant, quiet part of San Pedro de Atacama. The hosts are polite and helpful, and are there whenever you need something. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back. It feels like a homey hostel, and I’d recommend it even for a longer stay. Well done!

Out of the five different places my group stayed in Chile, this hostel was where I felt most comfortable. The view from the outdoor seating area, with the high peaks nearby, was breathtaking, and I felt like my belongings were safe. The staff were extremely helpful and knew good guides for hikes as well as worthwhile astronomy excursions. If I come back to San Pedro, I’d stay here again.

The staff made exploring the Atacama so easy. Before our trip, they arranged airport transfers and a full schedule of daily excursions. When we arrived, they explained what we’d booked and what to expect, and every trip went smoothly and was fantastic. They also sorted out a replacement transfer when the airline changed our return flight at short notice. We had a great three-night stay at Hostal Ayni. Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and a great ensuite shower. Highly recommend it if you’re visiting the Atacama.
