We slept really well here. The doors were dark and quiet, and it was a safe ten minute walk to the main street. The family running the hostal made us feel welcome, and the kitchen was excellent. One thing to watch is the 19% charge. It's included on booking.com, but tucked away in the small print. You can avoid it by paying cash in dollars. Other places that charge it usually make it much clearer in the main description.

The rooftop mirador has a beautiful view, and the communal kitchen has the basics. Our private room was spacious and clean, though the bed and pillows weren't very comfortable. The staff were friendly and even helped us get our laundry done for a very reasonable price. For what it costs, I'd call the place average to a little above average. The WiFi was really poor, and we rarely got hot water in the shower. The room got quite hot during the day, but opening the windows at night brought another problem: street cats would sometimes climb inside and wake us up. Not a pleasant way to sleep.

We had a safe parking spot, and the hostel is an easy walk from the center while still being very quiet. The mirador is wonderful, so try to leave yourself some time to sit there and relax between outings. Our rooms were clean and very good. We had a mix-up with one room and needed to switch, but the staff were friendly about it, answered our questions, and did our laundry at a good price. The kitchen was nice and had enough, though it felt a little sparsely equipped for how many people might use it. The quality felt fair for the price. One thing: my boyfriend got warm showers for several days, while mine were cold every time 🥲.

The laundry service was excellent. The woman doing it kindly hung our clothes out to dry instead of putting them in the dryer. There was lots of shaded outdoor seating, secure parking, and the kitchen was basic but did the job. Easy to walk everywhere, and good value for the money.

The upstairs terrace has a nice mountain view, and there's a kitchen for making your own food. Everything was very clean, the price was good, and it's about a ten minute walk to the center. A really nice hostel.
