Hostal Turickapur

We stayed in January 2016. The property is close to the bus station, though the town center with most of the pubs and restaurants is a 5-10 minute walk away. If you're going out at night, take a torch or flashlight. From the front, there are lovely views of Licanbur volcano, and there's a small garden at the back where you can sit. The shared kitchen and dining area are nice. The rooms and bathrooms were clean but small. It got hot during the day without air conditioning, so you could leave the windows open.

Not a good experience.

The owner and her daughter make the place feel warm and welcoming. I don't speak Spanish and the owner doesn't speak English, but we still managed to understand each other without trouble. It's clean, breakfast is good with fresh bread, and there's a kitchen guests can use. The center is a little way off, though only a little, and having a car makes that easier.

Our room was warm, but we adjusted just fine. The manager was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed for a pleasant stay. It's a cozy, comfortable place, and breakfast was both good and generous.
