Jama Hostel

We used our basic room as a base for exploring the Atacama, and it suited us fine. The parking was spacious and felt safe, and there was a small kitchen area for cooking meals. Over our four days at Jama, the host was kind and accommodating: they let us check out flexibly, helped with laundry, and even assisted with a minor car problem. The price seemed much lower than other Atacama options, and the staff treated us really kindly. I’d recommend it to other travellers.

We stayed four nights and found the twin room small but very clean. The hostel’s outdoor common area was lovely, and we made plenty of use of the shared kitchen. There were lots of bathrooms, cleaned several times a day, and they always had soap, shampoo and toilet paper. A cozy place and very good value, especially compared with other spots in San Pedro.

Getting to the main street, Caracoles, was easy from this hostel, and that helped make my Atacama stay hassle-free. My bedroom was clean, comfortable and well kept, with a cozy feel. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. I highly recommend it for a memorable visit.

The place was very clean, and the host is a lovely lady. She let us check in early and didn’t rush us to check out. I recommend staying here.
