Francisco told me the hostel has been in his family for almost 150 years, and that he grew up there when it was his grandmother's house. He and Camila were friendly hosts. The housekeeper, Milencen, was patient and kind with my poor Spanish, and we managed to communicate. I loved the shaded courtyard, with comfortable furniture where I had the included breakfast outdoors. The hostel was super clean and conveniently located. I highly recommend La Casa del Pueblo.

I'm already hoping to return. The value for the stay was amazing, and I felt at home from the start. Even though my flight was delayed, Francisco waited patiently and greeted me with so much kindness and care. The breakfast was delicious, the beds were dreamy, the shower was fantastic, and the air conditioning was perfectly warm. 100% recommended!

The location made it easy to get around San Pedro, with local markets, restaurants, and tour booking all within a short walk. I had a wonderful time at Hostal La Casa del Pueblo. The owners welcomed me warmly and helped generously throughout my stay. The rooms were cosy and well kept, and the communal spaces were clean and inviting. The facilities felt thoughtfully arranged, and breakfast was a tasty, filling surprise before heading out to the Atacama Desert. The owners were always cheerful and ready to help with questions or requests. It felt like home, and I can't recommend it enough.

The cleaning lady was always cheerful when I got back from our tours, and I enjoyed trying to speak Spanish with her each day, even though I don't speak much. Our innkeepers were great about sharing local recommendations. Such a lovely stay.

Camila and Francisco are the best owners I've met in South America. This was the best hotel experience we had on our whole Chile trip. I wish I could've stayed longer, but I'll definitely be back.
