Everything we needed for everyday life was there, and the cabins were lovely. Don Juan and Doña Erica were kind, honest hosts who were always ready to help. The place is also close to everything.

We called the police, but their response was no more useful than the owner's behavior. Our stay at Espacio del Viajero was awful, and I’d tell anyone looking for a safe, respectful place to avoid it. That day we had been working more than 100 km away in an area with poor cell service, so we couldn’t make the transfer right then. We explained that we’d pay after dinner and a little rest, but Juan showed no patience or understanding and kept pressuring us. While we were out having dinner, our friend, who was unwell and had recently had a fracture, was alone in the cabin. He opened the door on her several times without warning. He then stayed by the cabin entrance the whole time we were away. When we came back, he shut the gate and wouldn’t let our car in. During the conversation he picked up a shovel and put it on his shoulder in a threatening way. He then kicked us out in the middle of the night. What happened was unacceptable and really worrying.

Juan, the owner, was charming, friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. The house itself was clean, quiet, and very pleasant, with the center nearby. Mini markets are about a five-minute walk away, which made shopping easy. I’d definitely recommend staying here in San Pedro de Atacama.

Don Juan is a kind, attentive owner, and the place feels really welcoming. The cabins have what you need for a family getaway, including quartz beds, and there’s a lovely little llama too 😊. I highly recommend it.
