Hotel Sommelier Agustinas

I'm frustrated that the hotel is still charging me after I asked for a refund. I had to cancel because I don't have a Chile visa, but they don't seem to understand my situation. It's crazy that money seems to matter so much that they won't consider how hard it is to lose mine. I have to post everywhere 😡

The location is central, about a 5-7 minute walk from the metro. My room was clean enough, acceptable, but there were problems all over the place. The bathroom tiles had scum, the sink clogged the first time I washed my hands, and the towels were so old and threadbare they weren't even decent foot towels. The shampoo and body wash pumps had crud around them and cracked tops that didn't close properly. The AC barely worked, though luckily Santiago cools down at night. Breakfast was pretty scant. The oddest part was having a full-time person at the bar rationing the food, who must have cost more than the breakfast itself 😂. I hadn't expected breakfast to be included in the rate, so I guess I shouldn't complain. One lamp short-circuited and kept flashing. I couldn't sleep until I tracked it down and unplugged it. Definitely a fire hazard.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, very clean, and quiet thanks to modern double-pane windows. Our rate included the rooftop restaurant's breakfast buffet, which was pretty good, and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is associated with Underaga Wines, and there were wine glasses in the room but no corkscrew. The front desk did have one.

It was a great spot for getting around, with dozens of bus lines, a metro stop under five minutes away, a big supermarket, and plenty of restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay. The large room had strong wifi, a comfortable bed, a kitchen table, a small fridge, and dishes. Breakfast was included and okay.
