We felt at home here, which doesn't happen often on a long trip. Casa viva has a warm, family-like feel, and the staff are friendly and happy to point you around Santiago. The house is lovely and well located, with a nice outdoor area. Inside, the bright, large living and breakfast room is next to a useful kitchen for making dinner. Dorms and bathrooms were spotless, and the price was affordable for such a great stay.

It's newly renovated and feels fresh, but I wouldn't recommend it to foreign travellers. No one at reception spoke English.

The neighborhood was a pleasant surprise since we didn't know the city, and the location is great. It's charming, clean, and welcoming, with comfortable beds and excellent staff. They sorted out everything we needed, from bike rentals and laundry to directions around town. I'd happily come back.
