I really like this hotel. My one gripe is that my room didn’t have a table or dresser. I’m used to small international hotels, so it wasn’t a big deal for me, and I was traveling alone. Still, ladies might prefer a larger room. I asked Daniel, who confirmed they have bigger rooms with furniture. The welcome was warm from the front door, where I was greeted by name. Tanya and Daniel, along with another staff member whose name I haven’t got yet, are all friendly and welcoming. Tanya spent about 45 minutes helping me plan day trips and sightseeing, and she called to book three trips for me. Breakfast comes with the stay and was better than many breakfasts I’ve had. In the lobby, they serve wine, cheese, and salami from 7:00 to 8:00 in the evening. It’s easy to get an Uber there and back. People say the taxis are overpriced. One thing: make sure you have WiFi in Santiago. Many places offer it, but being without it is a really bad idea.

We felt very comfortable here, and the price made it especially good value. The breakfast is simple but enough. The staff were kind, and when we initially got a room with no outside window or daylight, I asked for one with more light. They moved us to another room without charging extra.

It was a nice surprise that the staff spoke English so well on our trip. Breakfast was good, with several unusual items on the menu. The center is within walking distance, though the sound bus system could have done it walking.

Tiana was exceptional, as was the woman who made breakfast each morning, though I never got her name. The staff were phenomenal, and for my birthday they made me a special dessert and sang to me. The interior design was gorgeous, and the place itself was stunning. There’s a very cute outdoor food court next door, and the hotel is near some amazing things. The area can be rough, though, with people partying in the streets every night and making noise. That’s not the hotel’s fault, and earplugs helped. If you want a quieter stay, a side or back room should be fine. I’d happily come back!

We stayed because the Museum of Memory and Human Rights was close, about 2km away, which was walkable for us. Other popular sights are farther off, so this may not suit you if you want to be close to those. I was only there overnight, so I can’t say much about the neighborhood, but it looked interesting and perhaps like it was being revitalized. For our needs and the price, it was excellent value. The property had character, was clean, and had a good vibe, with friendly, helpful staff and pleasant common spaces. Our room was fine and some fixtures were quite nice, but parts of the work felt slapdash. Vinyl floor tiles were peeling in places, weren’t cut neatly around corners or doors, and were even missing under the bed, which we found when something rolled underneath. The bed was a bit lumpy, and the AC looked and felt close to its last legs, though it did work. The good points far outweighed those issues. I’d still call it excellent value and would definitely stay again if I wanted to be in that general area.
