The veranda was amazing, about 30' x 12', with beautiful views of the square. We stayed three nights and would love to stay again. I never felt threatened, even as a senior, despite seeing a few "characters" going in and out. There's a clerk at the ground-floor entrance, and the apartment is in one of the safest parts of town, where the politicians work, with police all around the square. There are two elevators, despite what a previous review said. Helpful people work at the hostel on the same floor. Pickpockets are something to watch for, though that applies in every major city.

Horrible experience. The room looked exactly like the photos, but the listing left out serious problems. The apartment had no water coming from the shower, and the building's elevator wasn't working, even though the room was on the 6th floor, so we had to use the stairs. More seriously, the first and second floors of the building are used for prostitution, and the building's exterior didn't match the photos. The location felt very dangerous, especially with small children. The owner knew about these problems, hid them, and knew I was bringing children. My young children weren't protected. I arrived at the apartment at 18h and left the next day at 09h, well before the reserved dates were over. There was no honesty. I don't want other families to go through this. Be careful with the Booking photos. I also blame Booking, and I'm sure the other reviews are from friends. It seems impossible they came from guests.
