Mandarin Oriental, Santiago

The hotel is lovely, though the AC wasn’t as powerful as we wanted. What made the stay was the club lounge team. Arantza was AMAZING, so helpful and kind, and treated us like family. Diego was wonderful too. I’d recommend the hotel for the hospitality of the lounge staff.

The mountain views from the soft beds were breathtaking, and the rooms had plenty of space to eat or work. The shower was great too. This big, bright hotel mixes classic and modern decor, with a lovely atmosphere and an amazing pool area. The water was way too cold, though, and there’s no hot tub. Still, the pool area is nice for drinks and a cigar. Service was great, everyone was friendly and ready to help, and the concierge team was especially helpful. Thanks to Tomas in particular. The location was convenient too, about a 5-10 minute drive to all the nice spots. One of the best hotels for the value, and I’d love to come back!

The building’s architecture is gorgeous, and dinner was great. The room showed some wear, including a bathroom door that took effort to close. Service was professional, but not proactive, and the information before arrival wasn’t clear for this day and age. Breakfast was disappointing, with limited choices that weren’t very good, and the setup needs improvement. Although I was told breakfast was included when we sat down, I was asked to sign a receipt showing the full price. They then said it was just for tips. I had to flag down the waiter twice and wait five minutes for milk, so the crowded buffet barely being served didn’t feel worth tipping. I left 3 dollars out of courtesy, then saw a bill for 13 dollars. I felt very disappointed.

That pool was beautiful, and every restaurant we tried was fantastic. The room layout was a favorite, with the bed facing the window and a cozy sitting area where we could take in the view. I could have spent days in the shower, and the bath products stood out too. We were greeted with a bottle of rosé on our first night, which made it feel extra special. MO felt like a little piece of paradise in the city and was the perfect finish to our two-week trip through Argentina and Chile. Every detail felt exceptional. I’m already looking at other MO locations for our next trip. Easily a 10/10 stay.
