Novotel Santiago Providencia

Even with the hotel at full capacity over Valentine's weekend, the staff were really helpful. The views were great, breakfast was a serious 10/10, and I had a massage with a lovely masseuse. A lovely accommodation.

I got in at 10 a.m. after my flight arrived at 8:30, and they let me check in early. The location is good, near the mall and metro, and breakfast was good too. The soup and two of the three hot options changed each day, while scrambled eggs were always there. It might get boring after three or four nights. The gym was decent for a smaller hotel. I wish the pool were outdoors, since I'm not a fan of indoor pools. A hot tub appeared in one picture, but it was covered. I'd stay here again.

Christina at reception, if that's her name, was the one bright spot. She was very helpful despite being overloaded with work. This was the worst Novotel I've stayed in. The hotel's location is very good, close to Tobalaba metro station and the main boulevards. But there isn't even a drop-off area. Both times, our taxi had to stop across the road, and we struggled to cross with all our luggage after a long trip to Santiago. Nobody helped us. The room was an okay size but needed a lot of maintenance. The bathroom's sliding door made noise and didn't isolate sound when shut, and its hangers were loose. The towels were greyish, not white. I left a note asking for the mattress to be replaced, but it wasn't; when I returned, I saw the same grey dot on my pillow. There was no drinking water or snacks in the room. When we asked, we were told to fill our glasses at the dispensers by the elevators on each floor, so we had to go to the elevator lobby whenever we were thirsty or carry a bottle. At 9:15 the next morning, housekeeping started vacuuming. The doors didn't block enough sound, so it woke us. I called reception and got no answer. Then my friend and other residents went out and asked the housekeeper to stop.

The hotel offers good value for its quality and felt safe, which matters a lot in Santiago de Chile nowadays. Cristina at reception made the stay especially nice. She patiently and warmly helped with all sorts of things, even small questions. After my very long trip, she also let me check in earlier than usual, which I really appreciated. I'm grateful to her and to this wonderful hotel. Thanks to you, I saw this beautiful city in a different way. Thank you so much!
