Rado Boutique Hostel

The common room was really nice, with a good-looking kitchen, and there’s a rooftop terrace on the top floor overlooking patio Bellavista. I stayed in a four-bed mixed dorm and had a great time. Each person had a good-sized locker, though you’ll need to bring your own lock. Great hostel.

The area is great, but it’s close to busy bars, and every night our roommates came back drunk during the night. The reception team was great, helped us check in at 2am, and pointed us toward food that was open then. They also booked several tours for us at a reasonable price. Beds were comfortable, lockers very large, and the strong WiFi reached the rooms. Breakfast was basic but nice to have on the rooftop. The ensuite bathroom was large and decent for a six-bed dorm, though it could have been cleaned more than once a day.

I stayed for two nights and was really satisfied with this hostel. The rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. Staff even washed my dishes, saying that was her job. Towels are provided, which is kind of them, since hostels often don’t have towels and long-term travellers have to bring their own. There aren’t many shower rooms, and it’s a little far from downtown, but a taxi from the hostel costs just USD5. I strongly recommend it to people visiting Santiago who want to stay in a hostel.

It’s very clean and professional, and the staff are helpful. This isn’t a party hostel, but it’s a good place to meet people and have a good time. It’s centrally located beside a university, with all sorts of food and nightlife at different price points. There’s one bathroom for every two rooms, so you avoid huge lines. Seriously refreshing after some of the dumps I’ve seen.
