Santa Magdalena Apartments

The neighborhood felt safe and clean, with the park and Statue of the Immaculate Conception an easy walk away. Breakfast was generous, and sometimes came with a Chilean Twinkie. The staff were kind, although communication was limited because my Spanish is nonexistent and their English was basic. In the room, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space, but the heating didn't work. I was there in early September, so it was manageable, though mornings were chilly; maybe the radiators work in winter, but I don't know. The thin walls let in a lot of sound from both inside and outside. My room looked onto what seemed to be a restaurant patio, and the noise felt as if I were still sitting at a table there. I slept through it, but light sleepers might not. The kitchen had only the basics, which was okay since the area has so many good restaurants that eating in didn't seem appealing anyway. One elevator also trapped me for about 15 minutes before I managed to pry my way out, so they're a bit iffy. And for Pokemon go players, there's no stop at the hotel, though there are plenty a short walk away. It's a good spot to catch a Heracross to show off to your friends.
