Santiago Marriott Hotel

Roland at the front desk went out of his way to make my stay a good one. I was very impressed with the service at this Marriott. The lounge has a great selection of food and drinks, and the breakfast buffet is more than complete. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Santiago.

The staff were great, and I really liked the lobby lounge and restaurant. There’s a nice pool area, though the sun only reaches it for a limited time, and the hot tub water wasn’t hot, which was disappointing. A big park for walks or relaxing is nearby, as are a shopping mall one block away and plenty of restaurants.

There are cleaner, better hotels for less money. The amazing staff kept trying to help, and they offered meal credits when they couldn’t resolve problems. The building is old and breaking down, though, and management is failing to update it enough to keep it working and safe. I got sick, as did other guests, and some floors have rooms with black mold problems. The hotel was full when sewage started coming up through my shower. They told me to use the gym shower while they worked on it. They tried, but it was a bigger problem than just my room, and it was never fixed. The staff and service really were amazing, but I’d strongly suggest looking at cleaner and cheaper options.

The lounge has lovely views over the city and mountains, and the staff were very attentive. It’s a big hotel, but it never felt crowded. The rooms were a decent size and adequate, and the hotel looks newer than it is. Good location.
