The rooms are old, the bathrooms aren't glamorous, and breakfast is meager. This place could help bring low-cost tourism to Valparaíso, but they aren't making the most of that potential. I wouldn't recommend Hostal Girasoles. They don't have a 24-hour reception, and the staff coordination is appalling. On my last visit, I waited on the street for over an hour because nobody was at the hostel, even though I'd booked several days ahead. The employees didn't know about new arrivals, so everything was completely disorganized. They offered a buffet breakfast to make up for it, but breakfast was already included in the room rate, so it didn't feel like compensation. If they improve these things, their rating could go up, but personally I wouldn't recommend staying here.

It's in a nice area, but the hostel feels neglected and the customer service needs to improve.

The bathroom had issues, and the rooms weren't clean. Breakfast was okay, but I wouldn't recommend the place.
