Maria and her daughter were charming hosts. The rooms are basic but clean, and they suited us perfectly for a stay before our cruise. The location and neighborhood are great for Valparaiso, with good restaurants nearby and incredible murals to discover around each corner. Just be ready for a workout as you walk around this magical, very hilly town.
The owner and her daughter are really nice and speak excellent English, and the service has been good. My wife and I are enjoying this characterful B&B. Breakfast is nothing special, though there are so many good restaurants to try that you'll probably want to eat out. Even without breakfast, the price would be OK for this area.

The building was made entirely with imported materials, and it went up the same year as the Bank of London for South America. A lot of the materials came from the same factory. The entrance has a mosaic of small colored tiles that didn't exist in Chile, and I don't know whether they still have them. Steel tie rods run horizontally through the property as anchors in case of an earthquake. My parents, the Schultzki family, owned the property. They bought it in 1967 from the Buch family, who owned Forestier on Esmeralda Street.
