Hotel Casa Esmeralda

The location is good. The room might be small, but the high ceilings make it feel okay. There's no hotel sign out front. You can enter through the front door with a code, or press the buzzer to ask for the door to be opened.

Great value for a good hotel. The location's great, rooms are big and clean, the bed is super comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is some road noise, though, so experienced travelers should always bring earplugs.

The front desk ladies were so helpful and welcoming. Renata is a sweetheart, and Jessica and Antonia were a great help too. I had an unforgettable time in Valparaíso, cared for and pampered in the best ways I could dream of.

The receptionist was friendly, spoke English quite well, and gave me lots of useful information. The room was clean, the facilities were nice, and the bathroom had a strong water flow, much appreciated since Valparaíso can feel cold at night even in summer. There were tableware, cups and even an oven in the room, which I hadn't expected. Maybe this is a B&B. It's in a perfect location, and you can walk up the hill on the stairs between buildings shown in photo 2. It's quiet at night, though be careful walking on the street after dark. The entrance is a hidden-looking door that needs a safe code. There's also a kitchen on floor 2, but staff didn't mention it. Cleaning service during my stay would've made things better.
