We came for the stargazing and had a very enthusiastic guide who knew the subject well. It's a simple place, but very well run.

Breakfast was homemade by the owners, and since we had an early start, they opened earlier than usual just for us. That kindness says a lot about how helpful the service was. Parking beside the cabin was another practical plus, secure and controlled remotely. We only stopped for one night while passing through, but had such a good stay that we definitely want to return. The owners provided warm, personal service, and every detail showed their care. Our room for four was quiet, a good size and very comfortable. The mattress and pillows were especially high quality, which makes a real difference when traveling. Everything was spotless and tidy. It was summer, with warm days and cool nights that made sleeping easy. The place also has a heated shared pool, sauna, gym and telescope for stargazing, though we didn’t have time to use them. Its location made it easy to have a relaxed dinner in Vicuña at El Chivato Negro restaurant and return to the peaceful property without any trouble. A well-kept, quiet place with genuinely attentive service. Even one night is worthwhile. I’d return without hesitation and recommend it to families or anyone passing through Vicuña or Diaguitas who wants somewhere different with excellent service.

CasaBagua felt like a peaceful retreat in the Elqui Valley. The hosts were warm and attentive from the moment I arrived, taking care of things with real kindness. Rooms have private bathrooms, hot water and what you need for a comfortable stay. There’s parking, Wi-Fi, river access, a beautiful pool and lots of space to watch the stars beneath Chile’s famous night sky. Pets and RVs are welcome, which makes the place work for all kinds of travelers. And breakfast was fresh and delicious, clearly made with love. Each morning felt like a warm, tasty hug to start the day.
