Hostal Aldea del Elqui

The room was a tiny double, and noise was a real problem. There was no sound insulation, and a loud club or pub right next door blasted music while we were there on Friday and Saturday nights. The towels were basically rags, and the sheets didn't fit the bed. For what they charge, especially compared with some of the top-end places we've stayed, it felt like a rip-off. The shower was okay, with hot water and good pressure, and breakfast was passable.

The atmosphere feels like a family place, and nobody makes a fuss if you come back late. The staff are lovely, and breakfast is both delicious and generous. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, with a big garden and parking. It's also close to everything. If you're after somewhere affordable, welcoming, and conveniently located, I'd recommend it. There's plenty of room to unwind, and the spaces feel varied and welcoming. Our private-bathroom room was warm and cozy during the winter, and the play area and swings beside the barbecue were great for spending time outdoors, having lunch, or relaxing. I came with my little boy, and everyone took such good care of him. The people here are kind, respectful, welcoming, and happy to share and listen. It's a beautiful, comfortable place at an affordable price.
