Crowne Plaza Changsha Development Zone by IHG

On my first trip to China, Changsha and its people made a great impression. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming, and the mix of ancient culture, modern buildings and LED displays was amazing. The hotel was spotless, with helpful staff and spacious, modern rooms. Everything, including toiletries, was changed daily. There was no iron or ironing board in the room, but you could ask to have one brought up. Although I didn't eat there in the evening, a customer who did said the buffet selection was very good. The bar was large and well stocked. Breakfast offered local, continental and cooked options, plus a good range of soft drinks and good coffee from machines that could be temperamental, but worth waiting for. Since I was there with colleagues and customers, the location worked perfectly. It's in an industrial zone, but local transport is such good value that getting to the city center is easy. There's a Starbucks downstairs next door and a KFC just around the corner if you want familiar comforts. The shopping mall around the corner has a huge range of dining options, though the great local food right next door was reason enough not to eat dinner at the hotel.
