The central location near the Arbat underground market is a plus, but the hotel clearly isn't being maintained as it once was. Wi-Fi only works on the ground floor by reception, and nobody speaks English. We tried several rooms, and every one was dirty and smelly. Ask to look at alternatives when checking in if you want to find a better one. The floors were dirty throughout, with dust everywhere and peeling walls in places. Hot water took a long 30-40 minutes of running the shower to arrive. No more than one star.

Everything is close by, and Russian tour groups often stay here. The location is convenient and prices are low, but I'd skip breakfast.

At 4 a.m. during the night shift, I was asleep and had no idea I was being robbed or burgled. The computer had malfunctioned, and they never woke me in the morning. Their attitude was terrible.
