The biggest drawback was the room itself. The photos of the lobby and hotel entrance were accurate, but the room pictures were misleading. We were in room 606. There were no flowers or candles, just a very basic room that didn't feel homely or comfortable. The room, bathroom, and kitchen were a good size, but the mattress was filthy and exposed because the fitted sheet didn't cover it. The windows looked onto grubby rooftops, and opening the blinds would let neighbors look straight in. The small grey sofa and its cushions were dirty and needed cleaning. There was no wardrobe, just a rail, and the cupboard shelves were too shallow for much beyond books. The kitchen had basic tea and instant coffee, two cups, and a small minibar fridge, but no plates, knives, cooking appliances, or anything for washing dishes. A glass dining table and chairs were there, but the table was pushed against the wall to make room, so we had to pull it out to sit on both sides. The large shower was clean, but there were no bathroom hooks for damp towels or robes. The only places to hang towels were the wardrobe rail or backs of the plastic chairs. The room was noisy, with people waiting for the elevator and sounds from other rooms on the same floor. I saw the laundry room right underneath room 606, but couldn't hear it. WiFi was free and worked well. The hotel is in an office and shopping complex. Deliveroo found it easily when jet lag left us too tired to go out. There's a Starbucks across the road, a McDonald's, a supermarket downstairs, and something like a 7-Eleven. Real Hong Kong breakfast options are a bit farther away. Wan Chai MTR is about a 15-minute walk. That's manageable, though it could feel like a lot on a warm day after hours of sightseeing. Taxis and Uber can drop you right outside. The nearest taxi rank is around the corner and up the road. A taxi once stopped near the hotel, but another time a staff member tried to hail one too close to the rank and none stopped, so we had to walk up to the rank. I wouldn't stay there again. For the price, the room and service felt makeshift, and the filthy mattress was gross. The location is okay, though, and Hong Kong's attractions aren't too far away.
