The staff at reception were very helpful throughout my stay. I’d emailed them beforehand, and they gave me useful advice about Hong Kong and continued to support me while I was there. The hotel also has a pleasant, organic scent from the reception to the room, and I appreciated its clean rooms and sustainability policies. There’s a small kitchen area with a microwave and a corner to eat, and a market isn’t far away. The location is quiet and comfortable for sleeping, but busy areas and restaurants like Tsim Sha Tsui are close. Central is easy to reach by bus, MTR, or ferry, and there are two nearby MTR stations on different lines. Urbanwood (Hung Hom) is a short walk away. Plenty of local food places are nearby. They may not be famous, but I found them delicious, especially the rice dishes. The juicy fried chicken with ginger and tomato with eggs, one of my favorite Chinese signature dishes, were highlights. The restroom had the amenities I needed except for a toothbrush and toothpaste, which you can buy at reception.
Everyone at the front desk was welcoming, and David was especially attentive. He worked a double shift through Sunday afternoon and overnight, yet still gave thoughtful recommendations about areas and bars to avoid. At 1:30 AM on Monday, he even helped me find hair gel. When the washer and dryer stopped working, he took the initiative to suggest a solution. I’ve spent years as an overnight auditor myself, and I could tell he really cares and goes above and beyond.
The location worked well for us, with MTR stations and bus stops nearby. We had a family room for four with two double beds, a bathroom with both a shower and bathtub, a small one-person sofa, and two chairs. There weren’t many places to hang clothes, but there were plenty of drawers. Nearby restaurants make breakfast easy to find, so I wouldn’t get the hotel breakfast package. It was only available from 8 to 10 anyway. There’s one small washer and dryer, which can get busy, though laundromats are nearby.
The room was clean, and ours had a large window with a city view that we really enjoyed. It’s in a safe neighborhood, very close to the MTR, with lots of good places nearby. The famous Hung Hom pancake is Michelin-recommended and well worth trying. The staff are kind and polite, and available to help for much of the day and night. They were happy to recommend restaurants and even helped set up Wi-Fi on my phone. For this price range, I think it’s hard to find a better place. I highly recommend it.
The rooms are very small, so I’d pay a little extra for a bigger one. We chose the cheapest option, and it was too cramped for two people and two suitcases, really more suited to one person. The hotel itself is new and has a nice modern design. Cleaning was excellent and the rest of the service was decent. The location is great, with plenty of public transport and everything close by. We skipped breakfast because the options didn’t appeal to us.
