Dhillon Hotel - Hostel

I booked one night at Bohol Hostel, under Dhillon Hostel, because of its high Agoda rating and to try staying in Chungking Mansion. I don’t understand why there was an extra 40 HKD to pay on top of what I paid through Agoda online. The rooms were small and smelled bad, and no towels or toiletries were provided. The location was the only good thing.

The location was nice, but it was the staff who made our five days memorable. Shout out to Cherry, Dona, Sukh and Aman, who were kind, responsive and respectful. The room was very clean, and the bedding was so comfortable I didn’t want to get out of bed. We’ll definitely come back for a longer stay. Thank you, and please keep up the good work!

For an economical place, don’t expect luxury. My wife, our two children aged 4 and 2, and I stayed for seven nights, eight days, and I was very satisfied with the service. The AC, hair dryer and heater all worked OK. They changed the sheets whenever I asked, and housekeeping came regularly. We used the common area fridge, microwave and electric kettle often to make tea and milk for the kids. The lift was OK, and the place felt secure, with one lock on the main gate and another on our room door. Chungking mansion is in a great spot for public transport and Indian food. I was a bit doubtful at first after seeing the mixed reviews, but the stay was comfortable and satisfying. Full marks to the owner. Best wishes!

The single rooms are OK and the cleaning lady is nice, but the building felt unsafe, unclean and not good. Management was rude and unwelcoming, and the dorm room lock didn’t work properly. Dhillon Hostel doesn’t even seem to be a real place, just some random name they use to get you into this mess.
