The breakfast buffet was quite good and had plenty of choices. The bartender who served me was polite and nice. Room service also didn’t take the money I’d left with a thank-you note. At check-in, reception called the room a “free upgrade,” but the shower area was so cramped I could barely stand, and the door almost hit the toilet. I’d requested a smoke-free room, yet the bathroom ventilation kept bringing in cigarette smoke. Check-in was at 3pm and check-out at 11am. At the automatic kiosk, the woman handling checkout repeatedly asked if anyone else was in the room after I told her I was alone, then asked if anything was missing. It felt like a joke. The next guests, a European couple, were treated completely differently. She bent nearly 90 degrees with a huge smile and asked them no questions.

The hotel is fairly easy to reach by public transport and conveniently close to Muslim-friendly areas. Staff were helpful and friendly throughout. The free shuttle goes to popular places around Hong Kong, including Central, and makes getting to the airport very convenient. A great stay overall.

The carpet felt filthy, the room smelled damp, and the beds weren’t made or the towels changed. The air conditioning had just one setting, loud and freezing cold. There were air purifiers in every room and dehumidifiers in the hallways. The old lift took forever, and service was awful. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in.

This was our second stay, and Agnes and her team took great care of us. Agnes was always smiling and helpful, and she’d proactively check in to see what she could do. Ben in concierge was part of the team looking after us, and everyone treated us very well. Staff in the breakfast area, chefs included, were kind and friendly. The rooms were a good size for Hong Kong. The shuttle bus was useful, reliable, and right on time. Thanks to everyone for the good service.
