Rambler Oasis Hotel

I locked myself in here during a typhoon to quit smoking, and it became an experience I’ll never forget. The rooms are tiny and humid, and there’s nothing interesting nearby. Still, the staff and residents were friendly and helpful. The low price brings in lots of travelers who are interesting to talk to.

We got an upgrade from Standard to the next room, which was spacious enough, and Manager Nick let us check out late for free even though our checkout time was 12pm. The room was cleaned daily without us asking, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. There’s an 88F and 88G minibus station nearby that goes to the MTR, plus L1 Shopping mall and 7/11 just 2 minutes away. Taxis are close too, and I recommend downloading uber for a discount. The hotel has a peaceful, provincial feel, which I found soothing after Hongkong’s busy streets. We had a great stay at Rambler Oasis and would definitely recommend it and come back. We had room 3008, and the view was amazing. To get there from the airport, take bus A32 from the left side of the Terminal and get off at CHING TAO HOUSE CHEUNG CHING EST, then follow the road signs on foot. You can pay with gotyme or a credit card. The hotel is in Rambler Complex. For nearby destinations, take minibus 88F to Maritime Square, where you can catch an MTR at Tsing Yi Station to go anywhere. The bus doesn’t take gotyme or credit cards, so you need an OCTOPUS CARD. We’ll definitely stay here again when we come back to HK.

Rambler Oasis Hotel is a practical, budget-friendly choice if you’re happy with basic rooms and plan to spend most of your time out exploring. Rooms are generally clean, though small and a bit dated, and the amenities are minimal. Staff are generally polite and helpful, with straightforward service that isn’t especially attentive. Tsing Yi is quieter than Tsim Sha Tsui or Central, but it isn’t central, so getting around takes some planning. Nearby buses and MTR stations make it possible to travel, though dining and shopping choices around the hotel are limited and you may need to go elsewhere for more variety. It can work for a short stay or even a longer one like a week if you’re on a tight budget and don’t mind being farther from Hong Kong’s main attractions.
