The Harbourview - Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and had a nice harbour view, and the staff were great. I checked in in the morning, left my bags for free, and went sightseeing until 4. The breakfast buffet had both Western and Eastern dishes and wasn’t too expensive. I picked this place for a quick airport trip, a price within my budget, and a harbour view, and it ticked all three boxes. The A11 bus to the airport is a short walk away. The room had tea and coffee, but no water bottles or hairdryer. I don’t remember seeing a mini fridge.

The harbour view from my 9th-floor room was the highlight. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, though I didn’t use many of the facilities. It’s in a good spot, with a short walk to the airport bus, MTR, tram, and bus services, so getting around was easy.

I’ve lived in Hong Kong and on the mainland, and I’ve stayed at places from Marco Polo and The Kowloon to Ramada and Empire. For the price and location, this hotel is hard to beat. It’s clean, the rooms are very big, and I paid a little more for a sea view. The desk manager and morning lobby supervisor were especially helpful and spoke great English. Food and drinks were absolutely not bad for a hotel in Wanchai, Hong Kong. Sure, 7-11 is cheaper, but the hotel is convenient when you don’t want to walk ten minutes. I had no reason to complain, and got an upgrade too. The windows are quite small, though I’m not sure if that was just my room. Tell me where else in a major city you can get a four star hotel at three star prices, one minute from the Hyatt and Convention center in the heart of HK island. Great spot. I’ll stay again when I’m back for work. And the man calling the hotel “rubbish” is just a liar. The photos he posted don’t back up his accusation either.

We really appreciated how the team went out of their way for our family, even moving us into rooms on the same floor. Special thanks to Nigel, Toby, Tommy, Ansel, and Housekeeper Chu for being so kind and attentive. The hotel isn’t large, but its thoughtful layout makes it feel comfortable and spacious. There’s plenty to eat within a ten-minute walk, from local places to international restaurants. The harbour is just steps away, and Golden Bauhinia Square and Wan Chai Promenade are easy walks for a waterside stroll. Bus stops and the MTR are also nearby. If you’re visiting, Wan Chai Ferry Pier is walkable too, with scenic rides to Tsim Sha Tsui. It was a pleasant, memorable stay in a clean and convenient place, with genuinely welcoming staff. I’d highly recommend it.
