The Kowloon Hotel

One of the best affordable options in the TST area. The location is perfect, with direct MTR access and all the TST attractions within walking distance. The staff were helpful, and the standard rooms are very spacious. The bathroom is roomy and has a tub that the kids loved. There are traveler sockets and USB hubs in the room too. The only thing I didn’t like was the toilet. The flush is really slow, but it does the job 😆. I’ll come back here on a future visit to HK.

The hotel's design is really cool, and the location is the best part. The MTR connects to it, and there are plenty of shops nearby, including 7 eleven for quick snacks. Staff are kind and always smiling, and check-in was fine, though it took a few minutes. The place feels a bit dated, and the rooms are small. More room would help, especially when you're dealing with luggage. I'd love to come back.

I couldn't sleep properly because I kept hearing people walking and talking outside, both in the evening and morning. The walls are thin, the room was freezing, and adjusting the aircon didn't help. The pillows were uncomfortable and the blanket was paper-thin. On top of that, the room was tiny and everything seemed old. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel. Pick somewhere else.

The only real plus was the convenient location. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in Hong Kong, and I won't be back. We eventually got a side harbour view room as an “upgrade,” and thankfully we could adjust its temperature. The first room had a broken thermostat and faulty air conditioner, leaving us freezing all night. Staff assured us the new room's air conditioning had been thoroughly checked, but its fan speed couldn't be changed. It sounded like cabin noise on a Boeing 777, not a comfortable hotel room. The check-in was slow and inefficient. Staff seemed disinterested and willing to do the bare minimum. On the second day, a buzzing sound came from the grilles near the floor. I was told it was a fire evacuation test, but no clear or audible message came through the speaker. When I followed up, someone came after I was told they'd arrive in five minutes. They had a very poor grasp of English and didn't understand why I was concerned about the buzzing. After another sleepless night from the cold, I was worried about my safety. I still hadn't properly confirmed what the buzzing was or whether the fire evacuation alarm would work, so I asked to change rooms.
