Food is easy to find here, with eateries along the street from breakfast through late-night supper. Tim Hau Tin Hau train station is about a 5-10 minute walk. Coming from the airport, I’d take a taxi after the Airport Express. Changing to the MTR with luggage is a hassle because the station has no lift, and a taxi is affordable enough to make things easier. This is a small, cosy boutique hotel with what you need at a reasonable price, which is why I gave it five stars, not because it’s a luxury hotel with a concierge. I stayed in a Deluxe King room and really liked the shower room. The water pressure was strong, and this room type came with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion. Everything was spotless and towels were provided. The receptionist was attentive, and check-in and requests were handled quickly. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and bottled water cost extra. The tap water is clean and safe to drink, so you can skip buying water.

The location is ideal, with dozens of restaurants within a five-minute walk. The overpass also makes it easy to find your way back. Guy at the main desk was friendly and very helpful, and the service was good, if minimal. I appreciated the tips and welcome letter. The rooms are small but the right size for two, modern, tasteful, and equipped for a comfortable stay. Getting in is the downside. There’s no visible sign or door person, the building is hardly lit, there’s no street parking, and you have to know which building to look for. You also have to carry luggage up one level. A luggage cart would help. It’s a challenge if you have lots of bags or mobility issues, so I took off a star. It can feel lonely since you rarely run into staff or other guests. If you’re introverted or like being alone, this may suit you.

Tuve was such a good deal compared with other HK hotels. The room and bathroom were spacious and beautifully designed, and I was lucky to get a top-floor room with a city and water view. Housekeeping kept it spotless every day, and it looked even better than the photos. Thanks Don!! I was so glad to find it at the last minute for my six nights in HK. Tin Hau station is a three-minute walk, as is the waterfront promenade, one of the prettiest routes I’ve ever run. I’d definitely stay here again if I get the chance to return to HK.

I stayed in a Comfort Room as a solo traveler, and its futuristic, minimalist design makes thoughtful use of the space. Couples or groups may prefer a Deluxe or Premier room. The rate was very competitive, though toothbrushes and toothpaste aren’t provided, so bring them or buy some nearby. There’s a minibar, mini fridge, hairdryer, hot kettle, and a soft bathrobe I loved wearing after a shower. The bed and pillows were as good as those in five-star hotels. The hotel smelled pleasant and felt spotless, with no cleanliness or bedbug problems, which was a relief. Reception is on Level 1, which may be Level 2 in other countries, since the ground floor is marked “G.” There’s no gym, pool, or coin laundry. I knew about that beforehand and wasn’t bothered, as it seems to be part of keeping prices competitive. Some negative reviews seemed unfair to me. I had great service: when I asked for privacy and no room cleaning, the janitor called to confirm, then left a handwritten note the next day acknowledging my choice. Staff were friendly and professional, and check-in and check-out were quick. This was my first stay in Tin Hau after several trips to Hong Kong. I came across TUVE through its good Agoda and Google reviews, and Google Maps got me there easily. The hotel is around a five-minute walk from Tin Hau MTR and about ten minutes from East Coast Park Precinct, a quiet place to catch the sunset and see locals walking dogs or fishing. North Point is nearby too, with its local markets and iconic trams. People in the neighborhood were genuinely kind and friendly, contrary to the stereotype that Hongkongers are always rushing. There are plenty of places for roast meats, dim sum, wonton noodles, local desserts, plus a 7-Eleven. Restaurants weren’t usually crowded, so it was easy to get a seat. Two bars are nearby, one opposite and one beside the hotel. My stay at Tuve Hotel was superb, a calming modern hideaway in a local part of Hong Kong.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were great, and the shower was nice with fresh towels. Food nearby was great too, and shopping was a 15-minute walk through the park. We had a great stay and couldn’t ask for anything else.
