B&B Mongkok Hotel

The location is excellent, right beside a bus stop and near the MTR. Fast food, a bakery, grocery stores, malls, restaurants, and the ladies night market are all within walking distance. The building has three elevators, though one sometimes wasn’t working. That seemed to be a building maintenance issue, not the accommodation. We booked a double room for six days and five nights. It was really small, probably average for a flat in HK, and had a few stains, but that was a minor issue for us. The bed was comfortable with two pillows and a comforter. The aircon got super cold, though it wasn’t very clean. There was a private comfort room and hot shower. They provided an extension cord, so we didn’t need travel adaptors, and free drinking water. Bath towels were disposable and had to be requested every day, so bringing your own would be better. It did what we needed, somewhere to rest after a long day of walking and take a hot shower. Just don’t expect too much if you’re on a tight budget.

We booked three nights with our family but left after just one. The room on the 16th floor was extremely small and dirty, with a strong cigarette smell despite the no-smoking sign. The hotel only provided disposable, paper-like towels, which was very disappointing. Guests outside our room were loud, drunk, and arguing during the night, and there was no staff or security around to help. We were kept awake until about 3:30 a.m. Someone banged on our door around 3:00 a.m., which frightened us, and someone also tried to open our friends’ room across the hall. Traveling with children, we felt unsafe and checked out the next morning to find another hotel. We wasted our money on this accommodation and don’t recommend it at all.

The room was unbelievably tiny, dirty, and inconvenient, and the stay felt miserable as soon as we arrived. What made it unbearable was the late-night chaos. From 11 PM to 3 AM, guests were constantly knocking on doors, screaming, and acting drunk right outside our room while we tried to sleep. It was aggressive and genuinely stressful, not just a little noise. We booked three nights but couldn’t stay through them, so the money was wasted. There was no security or front desk staff available when we needed help, and we were left to handle it ourselves. If you care about feeling safe, having peace of mind, or getting a decent night’s sleep, stay somewhere else. Hands down, the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Don’t book this hotel.

It’s right in the center, with easy access to Disneyland and other spots like the cable cars and the citygates. Getting to the airport is easy too, just ride a train. The room is somewhere you can sleep well, but don’t expect a hotel-style room. For a low-budget place, I’d say it’s okay.
