Dadol Hotel

The building looked run down both outside and inside, and the hotel signs shown in its ads are misleading. I only saw one tiny sign by the street stand. Inside, our room was far too small for the price, with nowhere to store clothes, so we had to leave everything in our luggage. The bed felt like a wooden board, and after one night my back and hips hurt. We could hear people talking down the hall through the thin walls, and the morning noise made it hard to sleep. I won't stay here again.

We stayed four nights and didn't run into anything we couldn't manage. The hard bed may not suit people used to softer mattresses, and if you have large bags, be ready to carry them up a flight of stairs since reception and the rooms are on the second floor. We looked at both room types and found the double room roomier than the twin. The location near the MRT is ideal, and for the price, getting the same amount of space nearby would cost more. If you want a bigger room, you'd need to pay extra for a higher-rated hotel.

We had a great experience at dadol, especially for accommodation on a set budget. The triple room was comfortable for three, with a good bed, a large bathroom compared with what you find in chungking mansions, and good air conditioning. My mom's room next door had an AC that wasn't working, so they provided a fan. The receptionist kindly offered another vacant room, but she didn't want the hassle of moving. Rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels and refilled toilet paper and 3-in-1 coffee. There was also a kettle and TV. The water pressure and hot and cold water were good, and the hotel is close to the center and MTR, with convenient airport access.

Noise was a problem all night. You can hear people in other rooms, the bathrooms, and the hall through the walls. They also required a 300 hkd cash deposit that hadn't been mentioned when I booked. The front desk person couldn't tell me where to find an ATM, so I had to walk around looking for one. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
