Dhillon Hostel

We booked one night at Bohol Hostel, under Dhillon Hostel, for its high Agoda rating and to try staying in Chungking Mansion. The room was small and smelled unpleasant, and no towels or toiletries were provided. I don't know why we had to pay another 40hkd on top of what we'd paid online through Agoda. The location was the only good thing.

The location was nice, but the staff are what made our five-day stay memorable. Cherry, Dona, Sukh and Aman were kind, responsive, and very respectful. Our room was very clean, and the bedding was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed. We'll definitely come back for longer. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

For an economical stay, don't expect luxury. My wife, our two children aged 4 and 2, and I stayed for seven nights, eight days, and were very satisfied with the service. The AC, hair dryer, and heater all worked. They changed the sheets whenever I asked, and housekeeping came regularly. We used the common-area fridge, microwave, and electric kettle often to make tea and milk for the kids. The lift worked, and the place felt secure, with a lock at the main gate and another on our room door. Chungking mansion is in a great spot for public transport and Indian food. I was a bit doubtful at first after seeing the mixed reviews, but our stay was comfortable and satisfying. Full marks to the owner. Best wishes!

Management was rude and unwelcoming, and the dorm room lock didn't work properly. Dhillon Hostel doesn't seem to be a real place, just a random name used to draw you into this mess. The single rooms are okay, and the cleaning lady is nice, but the building felt unsafe, dirty, and bad in every other way.
