I booked for one night and arrived really late, with nowhere else to go. They said my credit card, which I use all the time for bookings, wasn’t acceptable, then offered me another place for 900, three times the price. I later heard they’d also said other people’s cards weren’t accepted when it suited them.

The staff were very nice and it’s close to the bus. For the price, I was very satisfied, thanks. It was a dorm room that looked like it had some permanent residents, and they’d run out of toilet paper.

The receptionist, who was Filipina, was really sweet and kind. The room was clean and close to the station, mall, and restaurants. I’ll definitely book this room next time.

There are a lot of Indians in this area.

Bring your own toiletries, since the shared bathrooms didn’t have toilet paper, though maybe that was just a coincidence. The hostel itself was clean and tidy. Many Indians live and work in Chungking Mansions, and there are lots of Indian food stalls on the first and second floors if you’re interested in trying them.
