Lucky Guest House

We stayed 5 days, and the room wasn't cleaned once. Cockroaches crawled around everywhere, and one time the man assigned to that floor came into our room without knocking while my wife was changing. She was shocked. I kept shouting for him to close the door and said we'd talk outside, but it took an argument before he did. When I confronted him and said he should knock first, he got angry and was very rude and disrespectful. We had no choice but to stay because all the hotels were booked. The hotel was like hell, very dirty, and that man wasn't doing his job. At Lucky Hotel on the 12/f of Chung King Mansion, that same staff member was rude whenever we asked for help or had a question. He seemed unhappy doing the job and had no idea about customer service. The manager should fire him before they lose their customers. I don't know why he acted that way, but some of the black guy customer assistants on the 15/f were civil and helpful. The Indian nationals with stores on the ground floor looked scary, but they were actually very kind and helpful.

For the price, this is one of the better options. It's on the 16th floor of the chungking Mansion. The rooms are small but comfortable, so don't expect too much. You get basic air conditioning, and the towels and bedsheets are clean every day.

There are 20 or 30 hostels in Chungking Mansion, so lots show up if you're looking for cheap stays in Kowloon. The hostel itself isn't bad, but I'd avoid the building in general. It's a crumbling old tower with touts and dealers hanging around and targeting tourists. It can feel more like Mumbai than HK.

The rooms were clean, the location was right in the middle of everything, and the price was good. The staff were really helpful, especially Gurdev Singh David, who did a lot for us. We enjoyed our stay at the Delta hotel Hongkong. Thanks, R & J.
