I had a pretty good two weeks there in a single room. If you’re visiting Hong Kong, I’d recommend it. For the price, it’s the best choice in Chongking mansion!

One of the men working there sexually harassed me. He kept trying to get into my room and offering me alcohol, and made sexual noises when I walked past. I felt so uncomfortable and scared that I left two days early. I wouldn’t recommend this for solo female travelers.

The room came with a toothbrush, towels, and soap, but cigarette smoke came in whenever we entered, despite the no-smoking signs. The toilet smelled, and the water heater was hard to control. We booked a triple room but got twin beds. Agoda listed the address as Chungking Mansion, but we were checked into Mirador Mansion, which may be better. The address was hard to find, and reception didn’t start responding until 11:00 AM. Not recommended.

We booked three nights because Agoda showed an 8.9 rating, but we ran into the problems mentioned in other reviews: a cockroach in the room, dirty sheets, a strange check-in process, and a dilapidated building. We made it through two nights. Then we heard aggressive shouting between guests and staff in the hallway and started feeling uneasy. My partner left a bad review on Agoda, and the owner confronted us aggressively about it, telling me to “watch me girl.” We were worried about our safety, so we left immediately and reported what happened to Agoda. For future travelers, I’d avoid this place and cheap accommodation in the area. Pay an extra 10 euro a night and stay south of the river for your own safety.
