Sun Ying Hotel

The owner was pleasant and sorted out the issues I brought up. Still, the rooms are really small and the location is chaotic, which a lot of people probably won't like. For a low-budget night in Hong Kong, it can do the job. I only ended up here because my first choice and the better options were booked out over Christmas. You have to reserve through the green mango website.

For the price, it was cheap, quiet, and small, with cold air conditioning and hot water. They also supplied towels, soap, shampoo, and a toothbrush with paste. Finding it takes some effort if you don't know Hong Kong: go around the block until you spot “sincere house.” It has two entrances, and one shuts after 11 pm. Once inside, take the lift to the sixth floor.

It's in a great spot, and the owner is a nice guy. The rooms are very clean, though tiny, as you'd expect from a cheap Hong Kong guesthouse. Don't come expecting anything posh.

The reception treated customers terribly. This was the worst service I've ever had. Don't stay here, try another hotel.
