The Bauhinia Hotel-TST

The hotel is quiet, and everything around it is convenient. The staff were polite and very helpful. I’d have liked a slightly bigger room, though I understand space is limited in Hong Kong.

I spent a full month here on the long-term stay package and was very pleased, especially with the staff’s service. The beds were soft, the showers spacious, and the kitchen and common area handy for getting work done. The gym even had real dumbbells, unlike the fake gyms at some other hotels. Wi-Fi was very fast, and the location next to the bar strip is phenomenal. There were some noise issues, with neighbors slamming doors in the hall. I think management added padding to the doors to help. You can hear through the walls, too, but earplugs solved that for me. If the steep hill is a bother, there’s a secret alley passageway through to Jordan MTR.

I stayed twice recently, from Feb 20 to Feb 23, 2025, then Feb 26 to Feb 28. Both bookings were for a superior double room. I booked the second time because the first stay had good service and value, but the repeat visit was a letdown. Value here can be hit or miss. The Wi-Fi was great, and the in-house gym is only for monthly stays. On the first booking I reserved four days but arrived almost half a day late. I checked in during the morning and dealt with several great receptionists. Room 136 on the 13th floor was high quality, though the power outlet didn’t work and there was no scenic view. The room attendant came around 10:30 every day to change the bed and clean the whole area. Five-star room and service, four-star location. I also got two Sakeh Izakaya coupons for a bowl of soba noodles on the hotel’s first floor. The bowl was only a single bite’s worth, so it was hardly filling, though there are plenty of good places to eat nearby. The coupon could be clearer about portion size. Sakeh was busy with regular high-paying customers, and the coupon said it was valid from 9 to 11 pm even though the restaurant closed at 10. For the second stay, I booked two nights but checked in a day late, in the evening. The receptionist was rude, and Room 163 didn’t feel superior at all. The view was a little better, with the building in front about 14 or 15 stories tall, but the bathroom and bedroom were significantly smaller. There was no double lock or fire sprinkler. The bathroom had stains and cracks, and even the desk chair lacked padding. The one receptionist there was rude, and there was nowhere to complain when he was the only one in the house. Two-star room, one-star service, four-star location. No Sakeh noodle coupons this time.

Karl and tiffany were awesome. I was exhausted, and they let me check in early. They helped me a lot throughout my stay, with things to do and getting around Hong Kong.
