From our Horizon Club room on the 86th floor, it really felt like we were staying above the clouds. The views were incredible, and the service from Mr Colin Shan, assistant front office manager, and his team was excellent throughout. They also introduced us to some of the best places to visit and restaurants in Nanning. Shangrila is the highest hotel in the world, and we’re already looking forward to coming back soon.

The location and rooms are great, but the management and staff were terrible. There was little to no care or respect for guests. At this point, you’d get better treatment by booking a nearby three-star hotel and saving your money. The hotel gives you a suggestion letter to describe your experience. When we checked out, we handed it to the front desk because the envelope said “for manager.” The staff member opened it and stared at it, without asking anything or even saying goodbye. You have to ask for every supposed five-star extra. Want welcome fruit? You have to mention it. If check-in is meant to be at an agreed time, you have to ask why you’re waiting until 4pm. Need help with luggage? The five staff on the ground floor will act as if they don’t see you, so you have to ask. The executive lounge food and drinks were awful too. The hotel was a disappointment.

I came for a hosted dinner in the ballroom and was struck by the amazing view. If you're in town, I recommend getting coffee at the lobby lounge to take in the scenery.

This was my second stay at your hotel, and everything was perfect again. Before I arrived, I had several parcels sent there. Yann Chang (Deputy Manager, Front Office) kept me updated promptly and assured me they’d be stored safely until I got there. At checkout I had quite a lot of luggage, and Tony Li (Front Office Manager) and his team went out of their way to get it all to my car. Their help was the kind of five-star service I associate with the hotel. Thank you for another smooth and lovely stay.

Mixc is connected to the hotel, so there are countless restaurants, coffee shops, and tea shops right there. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve had, with a nice range of quality Western and Chinese food. My room was cozy and comfortable, with a huge wall-mounted TV. I liked that it was set into the wall, so the wiring wasn’t left exposed like in many hotels. There were around 120 free movies, though no Hollywood blockbusters, unfortunately. The hotel feels modern and grand, with care put into even tiny details. Swipe the room key over the lift sensor and it automatically selects your floor. The staff were all welcoming and smiling. Check-in is on the 68th floor, with a superb panoramic view of Nanning. It’s a real five-star hotel worthy of the Shangri-la name, and my first choice when I’m in Nanning.
